Todd Makurath is CEO of Anthem & Song, a partnership with Joe and Anthony Russo (the Russo Brothers) dedicated to advancing the art of Chinese-language storytelling. Anthem & Song functions as a boutique creative consultancy providing Chinese filmmakers and producers with access to the best creative talent Hollywood has to offer. The business is fully dedicated to supporting and growing the reach of Chinese-language entertainment properties. Anthem & Song was instrumental in the success of Wolf Warriors II where the company worked in the background to support visionary filmmaker Wu Jing and help bring his ambitions to life. Anthem & Song provided directorial support for Wu Jing by bringing Second Unit Director and Stunt Coordinator Sam Hargrave onto the project as well as providing access to a team of the world’s best stunt performers. Additionally, Anthem & Song secured the services of renowned composer Joe Trapanese.
Todd also serves as Chief Operating Officer of Agbo Films, an independent film and television joint-venture between filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo and Chinese Producer/Distributor Huayi Brothers. Focused on original IP development and filmmaker-centric storytelling, Agbo Films aims to provide the creative community a destination for deeper artist collaboration and support in the development, production and distribution of global entertainment.
Todd is also Chairman and Founder of Bullitt, a filmmakers’ collective founded in partnership with Justin Lin and Joe and Anthony Russo. Bullitt has curated a roster of exceptional directors and writers expert in the creation of brand-integrated entertainment and advertising content. In the execution of this vision, Bullitt has made major advancements in the production of live-action virtual reality (VR) content and been at the forefront of narrative storytelling within the format. Bullitt’s work has been acknowledged with awards from the AICP, D&AD, Clios, The One Show and Adweek’s Watch Awards.
Todd completed his undergraduate degree in Finance and Economics at Trinity College Dublin and subsequently a Masters of Fine Arts Fellowship at the AFI Conservatory. Todd is Board Member Emeritus of the Association of Independent Commercial Producers and member of the FilmLA Operations Committee.
